This is the Martin Luther King mural located on Lancaster Avenue in West Philadelphia. King gave a speech at the spot of that mural during the 1960’s, as indicated by a historical marker that stands directly in front of this magnificent work of art.
While Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a federal holiday, it’s also recognized as a day of service to assist in your local community so the spirit of Dr. King lives on. There have been a lot of horrible stories in the news this week, particularly involving violence that has affected the youth of Philadelphia. Do what you can to make the city a better place for them, because ultimately this will be their city soon enough.

you should write about the Noam Chomsky mural on 19th and Fairmount. I don’t personally like the guy, but the mural is very well-executed and in such a nice area.
